"Wine wine diddly o wine."
-Jerry Lee Lewis 20th century A.D.
Throughout history certain scientific advances have directly influenced the production of cabernet wines. Without many of these developments, cabernet sauvignon wine as we know it would not exist.
Certain technological advances in the wine industry, like the invention of Cabernet Sauvignon, were brought about by a single individual. Many new cabernet wine-related discoveries, however, were the result of the combined efforts of many, as well as the general, tests of time.
Three major accomplishments that greatly influenced the growth of wine as a world-wide industry are; improved botttlemaking, accessories such as the cork and corkscrew, and finally, the discovery of Champagne and Cabernet.
Wine plays a major role in today's modern societies, and it is important to remember that this role would not have been possible without the advances of science over the centuries.
